The Inner Critic
In an age of information overload and everyone and everything vying for our attention, it’s easy to be sucked into this propaganda and forget who we are.
That we are NOT OUR THOUGHTS has inspired me to write this latest piece
Inner critic
There’s always that voice
Just noticeable enough
Nudging us to a new choice
And when the going gets tough
It’s that voice yet again, persistent
Eschewing doubting whispers
To a point we become hell bent
insisting that we are our thoughts
And yet
There is a way beyond this thinking turmoil
To quash and totally forget
And plant the seed of thought on new found soil
Where upon renewed in mind
Clarity springs
And thoughtful rhythm we find
To finally live, laugh and love
And it is to that tune our soul gloriously sings
Keep reaching
